Big run today along the Boise greenbelt training for the Northwest’s toughest marathon – Robie Creek.
What you say? Where have I been?
Not doing as much as I would like to knock off a few more pounds. As I mentioned in a previous post – Halloween was not good to me. Or should I say, I wasn’t good at Halloween.
Since then I have not taken off any weight.
The thing is I know what I need to do – just cut back a little in the eating department and I will be losing weight again. Just a little.
Getting back to the half marathon coming up – have not been doing what I did the last 3 years for Robie Creek of running slightly longer each weekend. Instead, have been running more in the Boise foothills instead. Last weekend, I did a couple 1:20 runs.
What I am noticing is that I am not getting the training I thought I would get. Why? the new dog. We picked up a pound hound – a black lab ten month old puppy around Christmas. Now, instead of one dogon the run, we have two. I find myself having to stop occassionally and yell for Buddy to get with the program and join us. Which means I stop running …
So, I went make to the tried-and-true. Run along the greenbelt – sans dogs – for a specific amount of time, out and back. Ran for 2:07 today. And I feel good. Yes, I was beat up in the end, but I am feeling good right now.
