Robie Creek Training 2008

Stepped up the training effort for Robie Creek.  I actually ran every day last week, not much mind you, but I did make the effort to run for 20-30 minutes each workday.

One day, I put in an interval around the Boise high school track, 1 x 1600 meters in 6:03 - probably the fastest mile I have run in many, many years; though a far cry from my glory days in high school when my PR was 4:26.  That was 20+ years and 30+ pounds ago.  Oh well.

Today I did my weekly long run along the Boise greenbelt, 52:30 out and about 50:00 back for 11.56 miles - yes, I am being a techo nerd when I report those numbers - which I can do know that I am the proud owner of a Garmin 305 forerunner.

I measured my weight after today’s run and I was 2.4 pounds lighter than the morning weigh in.  Probably means I was dehydrated after today’s run.  I have been pounding the water down trying to keep hydrated, doesn’t look like I did enough water hydrating today.

Patrick’s Story

Here’s someone, Patrick Curl, who contacted me about his weight loss effort and why he is trying to lose weight.  In his own words:

Actually, my story is in the works. So far I’ve lost about 20 lbs in a month.

But I have a significant amount to lose. 300 lbs, to be exact. I’m a big fan of the biggest loser, and am looking for some sponsors to sponsor me and my website and help spread the word - the more people I have pushing for me to succeed, and the larger the sponsorship, the more likely I am to succeed.

I’m also a fan of marketing, and I think it would be cool to say, look what I did - I lost 300 lbs, and made enough for a down payment on a house, and to get out of debt, in the process..

Please check out my story, as it is on-going, I will succeed, but I’d like some help doing it.

Snow Running

Lots of snow here in Boise, Idaho this winter.   More often than not this January and February so far, my evening runs with the dog end up on the Boise high school track with snow on the ground.

I love it.

I can guarantee I’m not breaking any speed records slipping around.  That’s besides the point, I’m getting out there and exercising.

Changing gears a little bit, my weight loss effort has NOT been up to snuff this year.  I’ll be honest, more work, less exercising for the last month.  I spend a lot, A LOT, of time desk jockeying these days.  And its not doing any good for my figure :)

I have plans to lose any additional 10 pounds in 2008, make that 11 pounds since I am up a pound since the beginning of the year, ouch!

So, what do I need to do dear reader?  Leave a comment and tell me what you think.  Thanks.
