No Exercise And Losing Weight

by Dave

That is what has been happening; I have not been exercising and have continued to lose weight.  Not sure I can explain what is going on, but as of today I am 178.2 pounds per the digital scale that currently resides on our bathroom floor.

The no-exercise routine is not by choice.  About a week ago, I started to pick up the flu my wife had.  I had a cough and was starting to spike a temperature.  I went to the doctor within the first twenty hour hours and received a prescription that helped a lot.  Also last week, we moved.  Moving from one house to another doesn’t leave much time for anything else.  To top it off, I strained a muscle on the left hand side of my back – I was pretty much worthless for moving this past weekend.  Talk about bad timing.

But still, I have lost weight and have not been exercising religiously as I was previously doing.  I can speculate that the change in my routine is what did it.  But one other thing to consider is that I seemed to have leveled out on my weight loss effort.  I really wasn’t losing any weight this month until just recently; maybe my body was adjusted to the current weight.  Since I have continued with the good habits I have established using 30 day goals – like no candy bars, no eating after dinner, exercise every day (haven’t followed this very well recently), 64 ounces of water; maybe by body just continued on with where it was already going.  As you can plainly see, I don’t know why I am still losing weight, but I’ll take it.

All of this talk reminds me that I need to think of another thirty day goal for the month of March.

My sisters and I have often joked about the power of the flu when it comes to weight loss. No fun, but if it impacted your eating habits that could be a part of it.

Hope you’re up for your usual fitness routine soon.

Losing weight via sickness is not the preferred way to go for me … but I’ll take the weight loss.

Ran for the first time in awhile just last night. Thank you for the encouragement.
